Druridge Bay Super Sprint Triathlon Results

Another fantastic day of racing.  The threat of rain put a few people off coming but the 26 that raced had a fabulous time. The marshals were great, cheering everyone on.

The race was put on to give people a bit of practice racing open water before their big races on bank holiday weekend. 8 of the racers are off to Lisbon to the European Tri Champs and a fair few of the other off to Nottingham to compete in  the sprint or half iron distance races.

Due to the cold water, the swim was kept close to shore and became a 2 x 200m lap swim to make the 400m. The bike was a quick blast up to Widdrington roundabout and back and the run was a single lap of the lake.

The winners of the male and female races were in the lead from start to finish but the minor places were hotly contested with the positions changing numerous times.
