I get the sense that everyone is ready to clear out the cobwebs and see how effective their winter’s training has been …
To allow the competitive juices to flow, we’re organising a super-sprint duathlon at Druridge Bay on Sunday 1 April. This is a dress rehearsal for the imminent race season and is a run-bike-run format. It consists of a single lap of the lake run, cycle to Widdrington Village and back (approx 5 miles) and concludes with another lap of the lake.
The session will start at 9:30, so aim to be at the watersports car-park at Druridge for 9 to set-up. Its free to take part – be handy to know who’s coming, so let Ian know via email – info [at] alnwicktriathlon [dot] co [dot] uk
If anyone wants to help with timing, please let me know.
Club coaches will be on hand to advise, so its an ideal opportunity for inexperienced athletes to get a feel for race set-up, etc.
Most participants will generally race in a tri suit with a long sleeved top (it can be a bit chilly), but for the distance involved, kit choice is not too important. You’ll need your bike, helmet, bike shoes & run shoes as well.
