Libby Paxton’s Midnight Sun Marathon Adventure in Norway

On June 30th, Libby went to Tormoso in Norway to run a night time marathon which, beacuse it is in the arctic circle, is actually daylight.

Libby likes to find amazing events and it sounds as if this did not disappoint.

Below is her report

I ran the Midnight Sun Marathon as an Alnwick Triathlon Member last saturday/Sunday . Came 2nd in my age category and received a lovely prize from the Mayor of Tromso.
Can recommend the event . Some really great runners and the atmosphere is fantastic.
My time? 4:58 which is slow but did manage to meet some interesting people on the route and take photos of the sun bouncing off mountain peaks at midnight….maybe i’m not competitive enough but really enjoyed it.
