Welcome
Alnwick Tri was formed following the success of the first triathlon in September 2004 at the Willowburn Sports Centre. It has quickly become the largest triathlon club in Northumberland.
Alnwick Tri caters for novice triathletes or those wanting to try the sport for the first time, as well as more experienced triathletes. If you're interested in trying out the sport or joining the club, you're welcome to come along to any of our training sessions.

Super Sprints at Druridge
As normal, we'll be running a series of super-sprint races at Druridge on a Thursday night.
UPDATE - Jo Gascoigne-Owens & Ian Simon win the aquathlon, just a 2 second gap between them. Full results to follow.
Reminder that 28 Aug is the inaugral Aqua-bike race.
I've included a link to last years results under read more, so times can be compared.

I'm looking for suggestions on revamping website content (something to fill those long post-season hours ...).

Club kit
I am putting an order in for club kit this week so if anyone needs any, contact me as quickly as possible.
There are a range of kits available including one piece and 2 piece and a full suit works out to be roughly £60 if you choose 1 or 2 piece.
There are also a number of people who have cycle tops.
Hoodies are already on stock and usually in the boot of my car so catch me to try them on.
Sizing for tri suits is the same as Orca

John Lester completes Lands End to John o'Groats
Done it
Simple text message from John, and representative of the way he's gone about this challenge of tackling a bike ride in the region of a thousand miles in 10 days.
Well done John - once I get more info I'll post it up. Hopefully we can convince John to write us a review of his epic ride.
Probably should have given him this link before he started .... http://www.slowtwitch.com/Products/Chamois_cream_the_best_thing_you_re_not_using_461.html

Novice Cycle Ride
The Novice cycle ride was cancelled today due to the fact it was absolutely bucketing down and everyone wisely stayed indoors. Hopefully the weather will be better next Saturday (16th) when we will attempt to meet up again.
The meet point is The Granary, Amble at 1:30pm. Hopefully we will get a bit of hill work in, so please come along and join us.
As always, if you could send me a message to let me know you are joining us, it will help to ensure we don't set out without you.

Novice Cycle Ride
The Novice Cycle group will be out again this Saturday (9th). We will meet at 1:30pm, The Granary, Amble.
This week we will take in a couple of small climbs and provide some advice on how to tackle hills. As usual the ride will last approx 1 hour and we will go at the pace that everyone finds comfortable.
If you would like to join us, please send me a message so that I will have an idea of who to expect.
Look forward to seeing you on Saturday.
