Stu Blagborough leaving
Stu is leaving the region this week to go back home after the completion of his stint at RAF Boulmer. He has been with the club for a year and has certainly added colour to events and training sessions.

Please join me in wishing him luck in the future and if you are at a long distance or crazy event, I am sure you will bump into him.

Following last nights AGM, Alnwick Tri Club now has a new committee

Just a short note...
Just a short note ahead of the AGM on Tuesday to thank you all for your support through 2007 making Alnwick tri club the success it is. As you will be aware I am stepping down from Club Chair. The past year has proved that I have spread myself too thinly and now the gaps are starting to show!!

2008 presents a number of opportunities on the club committee and I urge you to get involved and build on the achievements we have made to date. As a young club still in the early stages of development, everyone has the capacity to really make a difference by getting involved.

Hope to see as many people as possible at the AGM on Tuesday.

Turbo Training
Weekly turbo sessions are now up and running after initial difficulties with room hire. This week, a small group of members came along and enjoyed (?!) a technique session coached by Helen Jones. The session focussed on single leg drills and cadence work.

The beauty of turbo training is that everyone can work at their own pace, no-one gets left behind, and the sessions are free to tri club members. The next session takes place on Thursday 22nd November 7.30 - 9pm at the Lindisfarne Annexe. Again the session will invole technique work, followed by some short efforts. Why not come along and have a go? If you want more details, feel free to email me at triathlonhelen@hotmail.com, or ask one of the committee members.

Turbo
BikeTony has secured a venue for the Turbo training.

The venue is the Lindisfarne Annexe adjacent to the Lindisfarne Sports and Leisure Hall.

Sessions are on Thursdays at 7:30. Each session lasts between 60-90 minutes

Saturday sea-swim
SwimOkay, today was far too cold. And since only two people turned up (including myself) I'd guess you all think it's far too cold too. So no more Saturday sea-swims until Easter.

Social Coastal Run
SocialThe Social Coastal Run will take place on Sunday 30th December. There will be a small charge of £5 per person to cover the cost of the coach to Beadnell and soup & a roll in the Red Lion (Alnmouth) after the run.

If anyone is interested in taking part can they send a message to Hazel Eccleston so that I can get an idea of numbers.

I expect the coach pick up to be approx 9am outside the Red Lion and the run to start at 10am. There will be a pick-up at Craster (half-way point) for those who don't want to run the full distance.

More information will follow as soon as I have confirmed details.

Eyemouth Tri
Sorry this rather late, but I've noticed that everyone had assumed that tri_admin was Tracey, so I'd been logging in as ian over recent weeks - Siobhan's been racing again, this time at Eyemouth, and sent me a pm:

Feeling it important to publicise the existence of SLOW triathletes too, I decided to let you know I also did Eyemouth. On the plus side, I did in fact make it into double figured placing as against triple for the first time, coming 91st, in 1.54. I wont say out of how many! I will say that the bike bit was HARDER than at Hathersage Hilly Triathlon which I did in July..although it was fun gloating on the way back down as, being early off, I got to pass everyone going up!

One Life tri - foties
Hello everyone,

I've added the best of the photos from the One Life triathlon to the web site. If anyone wants an original let me know.

Thanks to Cazza for identifying the Alnwick members that I don't recognise. Apologies to those I missed. Thanks due to Muse and Sunday drinking for the captions.

One day I'll add the Alnwick Tri photos. One day.

All the best - Mike
